Leaf-miner fly - Japanagromyza viridula

Leaf-miner fly - Japanagromyza viridula
Plymouth, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, USA
May 23, 2009
Size: 2.9mm

Moved
Moved from Melanagromyza.

Nice shot!
Perfect detail on the bristles - you can see the paired acrostichal bristles in front of the scutellum that show it to be Japanagromyza viridula. All other eastern agromyzids with this strong green colour on the abdomen and thorax would be Melanagromyza.
