Bee fly - Bombylius major

Bee fly - Bombylius major
Petersham, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA
May 25, 2009
Wing pattern seems different than Bombylius major.

Moved
Moved from Bee Flies.

Bombylius major
I think this is just an old individual of B. major that's become faded and lost a lot of its hair. The sharp division of the dark in the wing is still apparent.

Suggestion...
If you don't get an ID after a few days, move your post to Bee Flies, where it will ultimately get expert attention.
