Identification
Base of pronotum tri-emarginate; pygidium and abdominal sternites at sides with patches of dense, white setae.
Range
Asia, Africa; adventive in NA(1)
Remarks
Is a host for Tiphia popilliavora who controls the sex of eggs by the size of the beetle they parasitize. In 3rd instar hosts, the wasps lay fertilized female eggs. In smaller 2nd instar hosts, they lay smaller, nonfertilized male eggs.(2)
