Coccinellid - Anisosticta bitriangularis

Coccinellid - Anisosticta bitriangularis
Pine Lake, Alberta, Canada
May 23, 2009
Size: 4 mm
Looks like something from Psyllobora; sweepnetted from tall grass

don't think Psyllobora; Anisosticta comes to mind
but i'm nor familiar w/nearctic cocc. -- it's just a guess

A. bitriangularis
only species found in AB. Matches pictures in the guide and elsewhere on the Internet

another option?
acc'g to the Checklist of the Beetles of Canada and Alaska, A. borealis Timberlake also has a wide ON--AK range, incl. AB.
no idea how the two differ.

According to John Acorn's "Ladybugs of Alberta"
as here, C. borealis is possibly found in north AB but there are no confirmed records.

you've convinced me
