Male Five-banded Tiphiids? - Myzinum - male

Male Five-banded Tiphiids? - Myzinum - Male
Ft. Myers, Lee County, Florida, USA
May 27, 2009
Size: .5 inch
There were about 100 of these beautiful wasps congregating on the ficus branch in the late afternoon. The lighter bands seemed iridescent green in the sunlight. It was breezy and they were quite active, or the photo would have been clearer.

Neat photo!
I recommend adding a more closely cropped image if you want help with the ID.
