Cross Spider (Garden Spider) - Araneus diadematus

This was a huge spider that was living in the free air/space between my house and our aluminum shed. It has to be the biggest wild spider I have ever seen first-hand.

spider
I have found a variant similar here in maine, it is much lighter and has hairy thorax, but similar. it is a big one.
