Scarab - Hoplia trifasciata

Scarab - Hoplia trifasciata
Wolcott, Lamoile County, Vermont, USA
May 26, 2009
Size: 8mm

Moved from Dark Hoplia.

Tom, I saw your caption for your H. trifasciata picture regarding sexual dimorphism. This species is sexually dimorphic WRT coloration (see Hardy 1977). Given this information, and the fact that you found the pair in copula (more or less), means this specimen is likely misidentified as H. trivialis.

Moved from Hoplia.

Hoplia trivialis
I think.
