Size: roughly 18mm
Robberfly, there had been a rainstorm and he was still quite wet.

Mallophorina clausicella
is the ID provided by Dr. Deyrup. Following discussion on other images in the guide, it appears this genus was renamed Megaphorus and I am moving to there.

Will. A search of bugguide did not reveal Megaphorous. Is there a higher taxon I could look under? Thanks!
