what nymph? - Harmonia axyridis

what nymph? - Harmonia axyridis
Burlington Township, Burlington County, New Jersey, USA
May 29, 2009
I don't know much more than moths, so when I saw this little guy/gal I snapped a shot, knowing someone here would probably easily ID it. So, what is it?

Pretty sure it's a
ladybug nymph. No idea what kind, but maybe that might help you determine an ID.

I think
the word nymph is not used for beetle larvae. Beetles undergo a complete metamorphosis - egg, larva, pupa, imago (adult). I think the term nymph refers to larval forms of True Bugs, Cicadas, Dragonflies etc with incomplete metamorphosis, that is a more stepwise developement.

And this larva...
probably is of that unavoidable newcomer, Harmonia axyridis.

larva it is then
Ah, I see... an introduced species, yes? I've already found at least 3 or 4 other of the same species in larval stage wandering around the front of my home.
