How frustrating! I didn't have my best camera with me when taking this photo. This is one of the insects I was hoping to find sometime and there it was yesterday on the wooden bridge on the way to the park. Well maybe I'll see it again and will then get a better photo. This one is just for the data point. June 11 -- Saw the fly again and this time I got a better photo.

It was one of my favorite finds. Look for them on sunny flat surfaces because they like to show off.

thanks so much, I will do that.. so what time of year to watch for them in PA? and does anyone know a host plant yet?
