Sorry you never got a response to your question. Aphids don't have chewing mouthparts, so if there were holes in the leaves, they were munched by something like a cabbage white caterpillar or a flea beetle. Aphids just suck the plant juice, causing yellow discolored areas if they keep at it for a while.
