Cesonia species - Cesonia classica

Cesonia species - Cesonia classica
Tucson, Pima County, Arizona, USA
March 26, 2009

Moved
Moved from Cesonia gertschi. Realized that in gertschi the dark median line should not reach the front of the abdomen.

Cesonia gertschi
I just finished looking over the revision and working on the genus page. I'm pretty sure this is gertschi. The range and pattern match. I'm going to move forward and create the guide page because I'm pretty confident, but I'd still like someone else to look over the image and the species description just to double check.

Moved
Moved from Spiders.

ID
It looks like the spider I just keyed to Cesonia trivittata.

Thank you, Dr Vincent.
Is that a possibility for Arizona. It's not on the list Lynette posted above.

distribution
Platnick, in his revision, gave the range as SW Calif. and Baja. However, his paper was published 30 years ago. Maybe the range has expanded. BTW, you can get the revision free from the AMNH.

Really?
I need to look into getting that.

Thanks
Lenny!

Thanks
did you happen to take a picture of it?

As a matter of fact, he did:

A bit worse for wear and tear, but I've just posted a fresh, wild one:

Nice find
It looks like in AZ you have Cesonia classica, gertschi, rothi, sincera & ubicki.
