Moved from True Bugs.

I do NOT see Arvelius albopunctatus (Tomato stink bug) listed in CA, but I was hoping.

Stink Bug nymphs?
There are several other images that appear similar to yours in the guide showing Stink Bug eggs and the newly hatched nymphs. Here's an example:

There are, however, a few other types of "true bug" that these could be as well though, so I'm not 100% sure of my ID.

Oh, and Welcome to BugGuide, Heather!

Thank you!! :-)
Thank you Harsi, what a warm welcome :-) Just to get this out there, I know NOTHING about insects, arachnids, etc... My interests are purely for amusement & gardening knowledge as I am orgasmic, er uh organic gardener :-) and I don't want to destroy beneficials.

The image does resemble what I have, the bugs appear larger, possibly just more mature though. The ones in my image have white on their backs. Not sure if this is a character trait or something leftover from hatching. Hmm. I'll follow the links & have a look. Thanks again & I'm glad to be here
