Aquatic Sampling- Bottle traps West Campus Park, Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Typical habitat for trap setting- this is a large stormwater pond with rich growth of cattail and other emergent and submergent aquatic plants (great beetle habitat!); to obtain a greater variety of species, try setting traps in different microhabitats- some examples include under emergent vegetation (shaded water), near the pond margin, open water adjacent to emergent vegetation. Also different types of water bodies- ponds, lakes, streams, rivers, will yield different species assemblages
