Taxonomic UPDATE:
Based on review of specimens, per. comm., and current distributions of the Cacama species in the sw. USA, specimens and images originating in Pima Co., Tuscon, & Desert Museum area likely belong to "moorei" - as moorei & valvata do not appear to be widely sympatric beyond the interface zone, if at all.

Cacama sp. "Cactus Dodger"
A common species group in several southwestern desert environments.
C. valvata is likely, but there is at least one other Cacama species with overlap in range.

Where in Tucson did you find this?! I've wanted just to
see
one, let alone photograph one. It is a "cactus dodger,"

Thanks, Eric. I found this one in my backyard. First and only time I've seen one. I live in the border of Tucson and Vail. Elevation in my area is approximately 3160 ft above sea level. Is this male or female?
