Beetle - Herthania obscura
Moore State Park, Paxton, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA

Size: 2.5-3 mm
Found on a leaf right next to a pond. I have more angles, including bottom, if they would help, but nothing closer than this.

I spent a couple minutes trying to take its picture in a glass cage. It crawled around and tried to fly to escape. When I removed the lid it calmed down and didn't try to escape.
