Size: around 7 mm
This is what I call a whirligig beetle because they swim in crazy circle patterns near the surface of the water as it was eating off something. We fished this one out of a small pond.

Probably Agabus lutosus (LeConte), a species similar to A. griseipennis pictured in the guide but far western (coastal) in distribution and is smaller on average.

Well, this one is a diving beetle, probably in the genus Agabus.
