leaf mine on white snakeroot - Liriomyza

leaf mine on white snakeroot - Liriomyza
Loess Hills State Forest, Pisgah, Monona County, Iowa, USA
June 5, 2009
Linear mine on leaf of white snakeroot (Eupatorium rugosum) in upland bur oak woods. Many other snakeroot plants in the stand also showed these mines. Indeed, many forest stands throughout the 3-county area that I visited over the course of two days had these leaf mines on white snakeroot plants.

Liriomyza eupatoriella (Agromyzidae)
is the species responsible for these mines, as far as I can tell.
