eggs!
John, you didn't collect these for me??

Sadly, no...
...that good idea fell victim to multi-tasking during an end-of-day field trip that I was helping to lead, so I was identifying plants for people, recording a species list, mapping the site, stalking insects for photos, and watching my watch to skip to another appointment all at the same time. Collecting the eggs fell by the wayside, abetted by the assumption that it was likely "something common that MJ will recognize from my photo" ;) Lame excuses, I know. Won't happen again!

leaf?
Do yuo recall what plant they were on?

Bindweed
Calystegia sepium

Maybe
Metriona bicolor, golden tortoise beetle
(you replied before I could get back in and fix my spelling)

Good excuse(s)
and I like "won't happen again."
I am looking forward to someone ID'ing these eggs.
