large numbers of these were around, though I cannot find reference to their ID. the following are similar looking images. Harpaphe haydeniana?? Sigmoria trimaculata??

Something is fundamentally am
Something is fundamentally amiss here because this looks like Harpaphe haydeniana, which occurs along the Pacific Coast from Big Sur, CA, to the southernmost islands of AK. Hence, nowhere near the cited locality. Rowland Shelley

Just spotted one of these in Pacifica, Calif. in San Mateo, Co. yesterday. Unfortunately, my photo is too large for the download but it is unquestionably as shown
