.... which I think was wisely contributed by Tony Thomas. It is probably futile to try to differentiate species based on photographs. Moth that are sharply differentiated by coloration at the same location on the same day are almost certainly of a single species. Enjoy the variations.

 
Interesting reading.
I'm already confused enough amongst all the different species without more confusion within the same species. :-) I think I'll leave the genitalia inspection for the more expert members of the membership. The more I learn, the less I know.
