Thanks, Lynette
Thanks, Lynette, for creating the species page. :)

Great views of the pedipalps,
Great views of the pedipalps, John, but what is the lighting effect you are striving for here -- the moment of discovery? ;-)

Trying for
as much contrast/delineation between structures as I could bring out. My lights are neither very bright nor tightly focused, so if I light from the top everything appears flat, and there is a glare off the surface of the alcohol. So, I light from the sides.

Making do with cheap equipment.

No, sorry, I meant in the habitus images (looks like a mixture of daylight and artificial lighting) -- the large patch of white light on the background. The genital images are great, IMO. And in light of the scarcity of such images -- any and all are most welcome!

Okay, I gotcha. :)
Normally I have the spiders on a piece of white paper, inside a 2-litre casserole dish they can't climb out of, but this time I didn't put in the paper so there was a reflection off the glass from my flash. I also had a table lamp off to the side. Yeah, the glare from the background does wash out some detail. I'll be sure and put the paper down to prevent that for future subjects. :)

New BG species
And I almost forget -- a new species for BG!
