Size: @2-2 1/2"
I would appreciate help confirming this...I think it's a Little Wood Satyr (Viola's), but not totally sure as Kaufman says it's a Southern form.

Yes it's a Little Wood Satyr
As for "
viola
", no it wouldn't be that, but it depends on interpretation. Specimens with pinkish or lavender overtones below (usually lost on worn individuals) have been called "
viola
", but they aren't really. There could actually be more than one species involved here though, and there are people trying to sort it all out.
