Explanation of Names
At the request of John B. Smith, Tepper named this species in honor of George D.
Hulst (1846–1900), a Brooklyn, N.Y. clergyman, botanist and entomologist. J.B Smith replaced Hulst as entomologist at Rutgers' New Jersey Agricultural Experiment station.
