Explanation of Names
At the request of John B. Smith, Tepper named this species in honor of George D. Hulst (1846–1900), a Brooklyn, N.Y. clergyman, botanist and entomologist. J.B Smith replaced Hulst as entomologist at Rutgers' New Jersey Agricultural Experiment station.
Range
Great Plains from North Dakota to Texas, in south ranging eastward to Arkansas and westward to California (Moths of North Dakota)
