In 2009
Alma Solis determined this specimen as the first U.S. record of
Pseudopyrausta marginalis but an earlier Knudson & Bordelon 11/13/1980 unidentified specimen in the Texas Lepidoptera Survey collection has now been designated the first U.S. record. This Medina County specimen is also in the TLS collection.
Range
Recorded from Medina, Brewster, Terrel, Val Verde, and Hidalgo counties in Texas. (Ed Knudson, Texas Lepidoptera Survey)

Season
Adults are most common from May to November.

Remarks
Pseudopyrausta marginalis was first reported in the United States from Texas by Bordelon and Knudson (2010) in the 2009 Season Summary and discussed again in Bordelon and Knudson (2011)
