Merinus laevis, Darkling Beetle - Merinus laevis

Merinus laevis, Darkling Beetle - Merinus laevis
Atchison, Atchison County, Kansas, USA
June 10, 2009
Size: 3/4 inch
Found crawling around under greenery on the Missouri River bluffs along an old caving trail. Didn't seem aggressive nor have an odor. It had 3 mites on it...on both antenna and on one foot.

Merinus laevis
