White (1968) mentions the pronotum having white silvery pubescence. He doesn't mention a pubescent pronotum for

That thought occurred to me, too
the pronotum of this one is definitely not shiny and has some pubecens, but the other one is the fuzzy one

Ed's spmns sans pubescence...
I note that Ed's specimen of
C. pubicollis
lacks pubescence as well, so this det is *very* tentative, (bordering on a coin flip?) Mike
