Chewing the skin off of a thorn - Crown-of-Thorns plant There were at least 10 of these around this plant.

This appears to be a female braconid wasp. This behavior is interesting. It may be that she is trying to parasitize another insect she found (with her antennae) hidden inside the thorn (it is unlikely she is feeding), but since her ovipositor is so short, she may be munching away just to get closer access.
