think you were right with Sulphur-tipped
Not
Progomphus
as the forewing triangles don't have any crossveins.
Digging through my books, I think the yellow streaks on the legs and extent of the yellow at the end of the abdomen are distinctive for Sulphur-tipped (
Gomphus militaris
). I think it's safe to move to species although it would be nice for someone who's spent time in that part of the country to chime in.
