Robberfly - Holopogon phaeonotus

Robberfly - Holopogon phaeonotus
Ivanhoe Dune & Swale Preserve, Lake County, Indiana, USA
June 14, 2009

Moved
Moved from Holopogon.

Note that the
hind tibia gets broader towards the apex, and at its broadest, is broader than the hind femur. This marks the species as Holopogon phaeonotus. The photograph is so clear that the diagnostic character is easy to see.

Thanks
for all your help on these!
