Euodynerus castigatus castigatus, male (IN)
Moved from
Euodynerus hidalgo boreoorientalis
. Congratulations, the first shot of this subspecies!
E. hidalgo
has a yellow metanotum and no yellow spots on the scutellum. Furthermore the apical reflex of tergum 2 is transparent (not yellow). E. auranus is very similar but the last flagellomere of the male is black (yellowish outside in castigatus).

Euodynerus hidalgo boreoorientalis - male
Congratulations for this breathtaking shot. Achillaea millefolium is a fairly good nectar source for solitary Vespids here in Western Europe too.
