dobsonfly - Corydalus cornutus - female

dobsonfly - Corydalus cornutus - Female
pauls valley, garvin County, Oklahoma, USA
June 15, 2009
Size: 3-3 1/2 inches
found this in a puddle just outside my house. it is dead, so the pictures were more easily taken than i can imagine they would be otherwise. i looked on several sites but couldnt find a picture that matched. i thought initially that it was some sort of giant dragonfly or mutant antlion. any help would be much appreciated, thanks
