Syrphid fly - Eumerus ?? - Eumerus
Baiting Hollow, Suffolk County, New York, USA
June 13, 2009
The eyes appear as if they might be covered with fine yellow hairs.
In the sunlight the wings and eyes appeared to be a dark maroon color.
Hind legs are bowed.
A very co-operative fly who did not seem to be bothered by me at all.
