Size: just under 5/8 inch long
Some sort of shield bug--Acanthosomatidae? Found on a grape vine.

Chlorochroa ligata (Say) -- Donald Thomas det.
Moved from Chlorochroa.

Pentatomidae - Stink Bug

Not an expert but...
I would go with Stink Bug...

Something in Chlorochroa perhaps...

Sorry I didn't see your photo before I posted mine
The problem might be with *my* computer. I can see my photo and the replies to it, but when I go to "Recent," I don't see either your photo or mine. And thanks for the info.

 
Hey Denise,
Your image is in the "recent list". Problem is that as new images are posted, the older ones get pushed back. As I look at it now, your image is on page 4. And it maybe on page 5 by the time I actually post this :)

I think Natalie was talking to me about posting the same image... We both picked the same image to use as an example. I used it as a thumbanil and Natalie posted it in her comment as a link.
