No chalcid
This looks more like a scelionid, so Scelionidae!

Chalcididaeā€¦
I suspect this is a pteromalid chalcid wasp due to the large, armoured-looking thorax and antennal structure, but can't be sure without supporting details. This is a very diverse and difficult group to identify even with a focused image. Pteromalid wasps do attack eggs of various insect species. I would leave this under the family Chalcididae for now.

Chalcidoidea?
Your comment seems to contradict itself. If you suspect it's a pteromalid, you mean to suggest that it be left in superfamily Chalcidoidea, correct?

Right...
I meant the superfamily - thanx.

Wow...
less than 1mm! Nice series of photos, Ilona.

small wasps
After seeing what you have been doing with raising tree crickets and also getting a suggestion last year about raising (for a few days) some of the nymphs and/or eggs/cocoons I find, I decided to try it to see what happens. Pretty neat to see what emerges.
