Abstract

The Colaspis suilla species group (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae: Eumolpinae) is defined relative to other species of the genus Colaspis Fabricius occurring in the United States.
The group is composed of five species, of which three from Florida are described as new species:

Abstract

The genus Metaparia Crotch, 1873 is revised and its species illustrated. A brief systematic history is provided.
Metaparia mandibuloflexa Sublett, Schultz, and Cook, new species and Metaparia prosopis Sublett, Schultz, and Cook, new species are described.
Metaparia distincta (Jacoby, 1881) is transferred to Brachypnoea Gistel, 1848, new combination; Metaparia fulvicornis (Jacoby, 1890), Metaparia thoracica (Jacoby, 1881), and Metaparia violacea (Jacoby, 1890) are transferred to Spintherophyta Dejean, 1836, new combination; and Metaparia laevicollis (Jacoby, 1881) is transferred to Dispardentium Sublett and Cook, new genus, new combination.

A total of 12 species are recognized in Texas,
including seven that are described as new:
