Finally a Forbes! moved inside - Rothschildia lebeau
World Birding Center at Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park, Hidalgo County, Texas, USA
September 27, 2008
I was concerned that this spectacular beauty of a moth, not to mention one that I had been seeking for nearly three years, would not last long out in its exposed position in the maintenance yard, between the abundant predatory birds and the park rangers doing their jobs. So I found a cardboard box in my car, and used it to transport the critter back to my office. I took this photo indoors.
