The setting: A very dry, flat piece of land with sparse foliage and measuring about ten feet square has small structures and holes in the ground. Over this backdrop, a couple dozen small insects, bees or wasps fly a swift pattern. Once in a while, an insect peels off from the group, lands on the ground, then quickly moves into a hole.
