Green Caterpillar family found devouring Geranium

Green Caterpillar family found devouring Geranium
San Jose, Santa Clara County, California, USA
June 19, 2009
Size: 1/4" - 1 3/4"
I first noticed this guy three days ago. He was only about 1" long then and my plant had a few nibbles. Now he's about 1 3/4" and my plant has few leaves that haven't been eaten. Also, tonight, when I was clearing away the dead leaves, I noticed another smaller caterpillar. As I kept clearing leaves, I found about 4 others in varying sizes. The smaller they are, the closer they are to dark brown. When small, they make lace like nibbles. The older guy basically mows off the leaf. This plant is indoors in a vase, in a controlled environment so it is very interesting to watch this family's changes take place.
