Stonefly - Perlesta nitida - female

Stonefly - Perlesta nitida - Female
Shirley, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
June 20, 2009
Size: 12mm to wingtip
Caught in a sweep net in vegetation along the bank of the Nashua River.

Moved from Perlesta.

Perlesta nitida
Lloyd hit the nail on the head. A female, and fits the description well of the female of nitida. Fortunately the males were taken at the same time, as the two sexes are different enough in color pattern to have made me relunctant to present an id.

Perlesta
This is probably the female to go with the male you photographed at the same time.
