Aphids on Pigweed - Aphis fabae

Aphids on Pigweed - Aphis fabae
Delaware County, Pennsylvania, USA
June 13, 2009
Size: 1.7mm
These aphids were found feeding on Pigweed = Amaranthus retroflexus. They reside on the stem and the underside of the leaf which they cause to curl.

Moved from Aphis. Andy, I will move "probably" images to species pages; "possibly" images I'll leave at genus. If a subgenus or species group or something like that would be more appropriate, let me know.

Moved from Aphids.

genus ID
Aphis sp., probably Aphis fabae Scopoli

Charley and Andrew
thank you both for the ID.
