Pipe Organ Mud Dauber - Trypoxylon politum - Female
Fews Ford, Eno River State Park, Durham County, North Carolina, USA
July 15, 2005
Size: circa 22 mm
Several of these wasps were gathering mud frenetically along the bank of the Eno River. This one has quite a nice mud ball in its jaws.
Appears to be a female Pipe organ mud dauber, looking at the guide page.
