I agree...
The dark head, thorax, and body, lack of any annulations on the antennae, and yellow legs agree well with the diagnosis given by Yanega (1996).

Great find..
Whether this a "rare" beetle or a "poorly understood" beetle, it is certainly a rarely seen beetle.
