Unknown larva 1 - Red-Wiggler worm colony

Unknown larva 1 - Red-Wiggler worm colony
Ronkonkoma, Suffolk County, New York, USA
June 23, 2009
Size: 1.5 - 2 mm
Many of these living the Red Wiggler worm culture.
I assume it is some kind of fly and hope it looks familiar to someone.

Moved
Moved from Syrphid Flies.

Syrphidae
This looks like Syrphid fly larva, probably there for the substrate you're keeping your worms on, but I guess it could be after springtails or a little of both. The transparent cepahlic region is pretty cool.

Thanks, Ghrankenstein
for the ID and info.
I did see white elongate body spirngtails of some sort there that ran for cover very fast.
I poked around in the bedding but was not able to find them again.
