Moved from Yellow-masked Bees.

Moved
Moved from Hylaeus modestus.

Hylaeus affinis OR modestus
so why under modestus on the species page?

Moved
Moved from Hylaeus.

Hylaeus modestus
Looks like male Hylaeus modestus

yes
it does; but I'm not sure we can rule out H. affinis. Unfortunately, we do not have clear views of either the anterior of the scape or of the face markings above. So perhaps it is safest ID it as H. modestus or affinis?

Male Hylaeus.
Might be the companion to the female:-) Very nice shot.

Thanks Eric
So the amount of yellow in the face is how to tell the difference between male and female in these bees.
