Deltochilum gibbosum is reported in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Virginia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Mexico (Woodruff 1973; Barney 1980; Masis and Marquis 2009; Fiene et al. 2010; Evans 2014).

Here, we report the first state record of D. gibbosum in St. Mary's Co., Maryland, USA. Two specimens were captured in Point Lookout State Park, Scotland, Maryland, in a pitfall trap baited with human dung. The first author set the trap on 29 August 2017 and retrieved the beetles on 11 September 2017.
