Looks like some of the pictures of T. atratus, but quite unlike others of the same species! How can there be such drastic phenotypic plasticity? Or is this species page in error?

Moved from Tabanus. T. atratus is not on the west coast. It's good you got more photos of this species as it is pretty common in the Northwest.
