Size: 1 inch
I am pretty sure this is a mud wasp in the genus Sceliphron. Top corner of garage nest was forming. Is it caementarium spp?

They pretty much mind their own business. I've never been stung by one, but can't say the same about the paper wasps. I think the mud daubers get pretty preoccupied building the nests.
