Unusual?
You say nice find...are they uncommon? The name sure is!!

 
maybe not that uncommon, but...
...this is just the 4th submission of this beetle, which would be strange for a common attractive beetle of its size. Name is a Japanese patronymic, given by a Japanese coleopterist who established the genus
