Orange County Bee Fly Archives - Is it Bombylius fascialis, or Bombylius lancifer? - Bombylius
RiIey Wilderness Park, Coto de Caza, Orange County, California, USA
June 25, 2009
Shot by my grandson Iszak Allan Hemberger, 10, the first time he used my D80 with 180mm macro and, unlike grandpa, no monopod.

This one has a wonderful graphic appeal...
I love the way the bee fly mirrors the same lines as the twig it is resting on. This is exactly the kind of shot I would like to have taken myself!!!
